Job Title:           Senior Reporting and Securities Analyst
Division:            Unclaimed Property
Classification:   Exempt
Location:           Springfield, Illinois
Salary:               $60,000 - 65,000

OverviewThe Senior Reporting and Securities Analyst is directly responsible for publication oversight and holder reimbursements for the Reporting Section. This position will be responsible for responses to questions as submitted by Holders. This position will also perform various technical functions via the Unclaimed Property System in regard to report processing. This position will provide assistance to the Securities section as needed. The primary focus will be the entering of transactions related to the sale of and accrual of dividends for stock and mutual fund properties, assisting with monthly reconciliations, and tracking of securities remitted to the Division. The position will also work closely with our accounting and claims sections. Attendance is an essential function of this position

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Communicates effectively with holders verbally or in writing concerning questions and/or problems associated with the reporting of unclaimed property
  • Maintains compliance with the Unclaimed Property Act and Rules
  • Organizes and verifies all documentation of publication for bi-annual U/P publications.
  • Coordinates Holder reimbursements from inquiry through payment
  • Enters and/or verifies securities transactions posted to the database; including but not limited to Corporate actions, sales, dividends and return of securities.
  • Corresponds with law firms and court clerks for reporting and approval of missing heirs from estates.
  • Serves as confidential assistant to the Manager of Compliance and Manager of Securities for the Unclaimed Property division.
  • Performs monthly cash and securities reconciliations
  • Assists with tracking of securities reported and remitted to the Division
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required which are reasonably related to the duties enumerated above for both the Reporting and Securities sections.

Specific Skills:
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite of products
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to work well with deadlines
  • Familiarity with the Illinois Revised Uniform Unclaimed Property Act
  • Ability to maintain satisfactory working relationships and communicate effectively with all levels of staff and the general public

Education and Work Experience:
Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, finance, or any other related field; three (3) or more years in an Unclaimed Property field, and two (2) or more years of supervisory experience; OR any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to carry out the duties of the position.
