Position Title: Unclaimed Property Outreach Assistant

Location: Springfield, Illinois
Salary: $55,000-$65,000
Position Summary:
Serves as a confidential assistant to the Deputy Director of Outreach and Strategic Planning. Plans coordinates and assists the Deputy Director of Outreach and Strategic Planning with the daily operations of identifying and reuniting owners with unclaimed property by implementing marketing and outreach strategies, including Treasurer Events and Legislative Partnerships. Interacts regularly with the Legislative Affairs, Scheduling, and Civic Engagement Divisions to coordinate outreach, events, and activities. Attendance is an essential function of this position.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Facilitates a proactive approach to customer satisfaction when working with legislators, staff, and constituents on Unclaimed Property cases as assigned by the Deputy Director of Outreach and Strategic Planning.
- Researches and finds the best available information to assist in the identification of owners and heirs of Unclaimed Property.
- Works with the Deputy Director of Outreach and Strategic Planning and Legislative Affairs staff to identify opportunities for the Treasurer's office to reach out to businesses, legislators, and claimants regarding Unclaimed Property.
- Works with the Deputy Director of Outreach and Strategic Planning on public relations issues as they relate to unclaimed property claims in Illinois.
- Manages customer service issues related to Unclaimed Property and the Treasurer's Office.
- Assists in performing various administrative tasks in order to enhance Unclaimed Property outreach activities.
- Provides assistance in planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating program activities and events to ensure consistency and to achieve goals.
- Assists in providing training to legislative staff and STO staff as they encounter Unclaimed Property cases in the field.
- Tracks detailed information and records of ongoing, and memorable Unclaimed Property cases, and reports information to the Deputy Director of Outreach and Strategic Planning and Legislative Affairs Division.
- Prioritizes and manages multiple projects simultaneously and follows through on issues in a timely manner.
- Ability to work independently and in teams as needed.
- Maintains solid working knowledge of all office programs.
- Review materials for upcoming events to ensure accuracy.
- Perform other duties as assigned or required which are reasonably related to the duties enumerated above.

- Proficient at prioritizing tasks, working independently, and collaborating across functional areas.
- Exhibit good judgment and leverage experience to successfully meet goals.
- Must be a self-motivator while actively participating in a team environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Excel and Word.
